First over SW Washington then spreading north along the east slopes of the Cascades, and more powerfully from near Rainier and Central Basin towards all of the east part of the state. E. Washington below the snowline away from the crest is very dry this spring.

up.gif I love thunderstorms. (But yes, hopefully they don't spark any big fires)

Things are pretty green up out of the valley around here. I'm not too worried about fires popping up. It rained hard over the weekend in the usual places and rained lightly down in the valley. Here's the warning for this part of the world. The river might come up and flood a bit also. Canada had a big snowpack that has been going by at a good clip. Storm warning

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Fun times. My kids love thunderstorms as the novelty they are here in W WA. A nightly family event in Yellowstone last summer, watching the electrical storms. Fun memories.

I'll git muh kayaks out. My street turns into a creek. It did last Saturday but I am on the high bank!

If you are going to post your propaganda you should say something.

The area I'm worried about is the area from Cle Elum/Ellensburg to Yakima and then the Central Basin. Hopefully there is rain with any strikes in that area. I don't know anything about "dryness" conditions north of Wenatchee or east towards Spokane and Pullman.

Pullman had a record rainfall of 1.25 inches on May 20th. Spokane and Lewisiton also saw record rainfall on that date.
Quote:
Spokane, Pullman, and Lewiston all saw more rainfall than any May 20 in history. Spokane saw 1.4 inches, breaking the previous record of 1.19 inches that was set in 1912. Pullman set the record for May 20 rainfall with 1.25 inches as Pullman-Moscow Airport. Lastly, Lewiston broke the record of .92 inches by just a hair with .96 inches recorded on Wednesday.

HOT here today. My "highly accurate" thermometer said 97. Perhaps that will make tomorrow more thunderous. Poor Demon dog.

Distant thunder and black sky sw of Roslyn at 7:30. Moving closer along a traditional path. Get to see the show from my porch should it strengthen. No ground strikes, just rumbling thus far. The bulk of this cell is closer to the crest to the west/nw at the moment. Wow, there's a lot more going on right now than I realized: https://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#y=47.1106;x=-121.1402;z=9;t=4;m=oss;r=0;s=0;o=1;b=1.20;n=0;d=4;dl=6;dc=0;ra=1;i=0;ts=0;

When I grow up I wanna play.
