I was being pretty cautious considering I went over the handlebars and cracked a rib a few weeks ago after I saw those bears on the Mountain Loop.
Sorry to hear that. Cracked ribs are miserable.
When you're descending something steep or treacherous, stand up on the pedals and push your butt back to shift your weight backward, making it harder to go over the bars. Also use the rear brake more.
I would have enjoyed talking to one of the mine owners but I was really worried about getting back before dark. After I passed you I was sort of trying to race you to see if I could get back to my car and leave before you came by.
haha You used me as a pace setter. I was busy listening and getting the story when I saw you coming down from upslope. I thought to introduce you since he was such an interesting person and a well of local knowledge. But you were obviously on a mission. So I just stepped back and waved.
