Hello friends, I was really hoping someone on this forum could help me find out what hike and lake is displayed in the picture. Please Copy and PASTE the link below into your web-browser. I was having difficulty with Flickr. I would really like to make my way here. The friend that hiked it (lost contact) said it was about a 4-hour drive from Seattle, and I believe she took a ferry? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Chris

At first I thought it could be Lake Chelan, but the image shown on this page is virtually identical to the OP's pic, so I think Xallas nailed it. (The lake would be Crescent Lake).

It is astonishing that one cannot see the highway at all in this picture. I imagine that it is just beneath the peak that the hiker is straddling.

You can see the parking lot for the boat launch that's right next to the Storm King Ranger Station at the lower right of the photo

Oh, I noticed that, but am delighted that we cannot see the highway on one side of the lake, nor the road that snakes through the forest on the other side of the lake. Good planning !

When the "highway" is just a two-lane road, it's not difficult to miss amongst the trees from a vantage point like this. I haven't been all the way to the top of Storm King. I tried once a few years ago, but the risk/benefit ratio of ascending steep dusty slopes via a handline (and then having to come back down again) wasn't worth it to me. But that's me.
