Reading this thread makes me glad that I have only attended about a dozen Rock Concerts and have fairly recently taken up using a chain saw. I recall going to see Van Halen in Minot, ND in 1978, a couple of my friends went up and sat right next to the speakers, they didn't hear right for a while, if ever.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

VH fan? Have you seen Joe Rogan (on YT) interviewing DLR? He's an interesting fellow, a climber and kayaker! So the supplements that I thought made a difference, don't actually. A total bummer.

Pretty big fan, not so much of Van Hagar...I will check out that video, thanks.

New Tinnitus Treatment Alleviates Annoying Ringing in the Ears a noninvasive device that applies a technique known as bimodal neuromodulation, combining sounds with zaps to the tongue, may be an effective way to provide relief to tinnitus patients Not clickbait, I promise.

Have had pronounced tinnitus for many years. Fortunately I'm able to simply ignore it most of the time. I really only notice it when the subject gets mentioned or I'm somewhere where it's REALLY quiet, like that lake I was at a couple weeks ago. As a teen I attended a lot of big concerts at the Tacoma Dome. Got right up next to the speaker stacks at Judas Priest during their "Turbo" tour. That was the loudest thing I ever experienced up until I saw Fishbone at the Crocodile about 5 years ago. Holy crap, I can't imagine anything being louder than that. I'm surprised the windows didn't fly out of the place. Stuffed my ears full of toilet paper and still couldn't hear for a couple days afterwards.

I guess I’ve joined the club. I did get an audio gram done and there is some hearing loss on one side that they say warrants an MRI to rule out an acoustic neuroma as a cause of tinnitus. Bummer.

Exactly. Ironically I damaged my ears only two years ago and for the first year it drove me nuts. Now I see this thread and stop and hear the ringing and giggle..It does bother me in the quiet of the mountains though. No one to blame but myself what i did was bleeping stupid.

Yeah, that'll likely be a "first". lol.gif What did YOU do? I let my grandson talk me into going to see Aerosmith at the ND State Fair, then a couple months later to see Steven Tyler live in Seattle. Add that to the race cars at the drag strip, the school dances, the pistols and shotguns, and on and on it goes...

I was repairing a hardwood floor on Braindead island after removing a faux fire place. I contained the small area in a plastic containment or tent with two vacuums supplying negative ventilation out an exterior window. Put my ear buds in, climbed in the containment turned on one of the two sanders on, could not hear my ear buds above the two vacuums and the sander so I turned my podcast up..... Now when my Afircan Grey mimics the fire alarm it hurts... bad. lol. What was I thinking

Yeah, I do contract broadcast engineering, and have in the past put restrictive intensity limiting on the headphone amps for studio "talent". Those guys would run the 'phones up "full tilt" for an entire shift. They complained, but I really did not want their ear damage to be on me. Actually, didn't want them to have ANY ear damage, regardless of who was doing the studio build.

Tinnitus is also a byproduct of cisplatin, a chemo treatment. I have some tinnitus that presumably is chemo related. Lately it seems better.
