Spent the day up there yesterday. (Yes, it's open!) It's a septic rebuild project for the Visitor's Center. The parking lot is also being used to store displaced sod and has lost about 40% of the available parking spaces because of that. Also there is a HUGE pile (20' tall, X 75' long) of sand to be used for the system.

God, I am going to regret this someday!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what they were doing up there. Good to know the road is open also. Did they just open it yesterday?

I rode my bike up there today, past the construction to the end of pavement. Yes, you can get by. You may have a short delay. But it's probably worth calling if it's your main destination. It's quite a project. It looked like they had a bunch of volunteers working on the saved vegetation spread out in the parking area, and they were spraying it to keep it alive. It wasn't very crowded up there, seems like a few less people than usual.

Obstruction Point road is open. I drove out there on Monday (the 22nd) and had also noticed that it had been graded, so there are no huge potholes yet. There is still PLENTY of snow at the trailhead for Lillian Ridge trail, Deer Park traverse, Badger Valley. It was sketchy enough on the sloped, east flank of Obstruction Point, above Badger Valley that I didn't continue since I didn't have an ice axe with me.

God, I am going to regret this someday!
