Im writing to say goodbye to Northwest hikers, and to say thank you to everyone who has helped make this site so womderful for so many years. THree weeks ago I started loosing my eyesight. Its to the point now that I cant use computers anymore. Im writing this using a magnafying glass. I dont think Ill be able to do that much longer. I dont think Ill ever be able to hike again. Thanks to everyone here for a wonderful experience. Tom Bentzen

Say it ain't so Joe. There must be an electronic solution thst allows the computer to talk the text to you and goes audible with what you type. We don't want to lose your input.

If you use Windows, try Narrator. I'd be happy to take you for a hike, I'll make enough noise to be easy to follow.

Keep on keeping on, never give up. I have not always agreed with you but have always respected you. You are authentic and nothing is better than that. As others have said there can be an electronic solution text to speech is quite good and getting better every a day with artificial intelligence.

Sorry to hear Sir, hope things get better.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Your advice will most certainly be missed. Thank you.

I may not be the smartest, I may not be the strongest, but I don't want to be. I only want to be the best I can be.

Oh, sorry to hear that, BPJ. I hope you can find a way to continue to contribute. You are an institution here at NWH. Best to you, Bud. smile.gif

Damn - I'm so sorry to read that about your eyesight. Good luck going forward. I hope you have some good people to help you adapt to your new emerging reality. I agree that this site was richer for having your input through the years.

I'm sorry to hear this BPJ - your contributions and lakebagging reports will be missed. I'd be happy to guide you on a short hike somewhere so you can at least hear and smell the outdoors.
