I lay no claim to being a scientist, and the comments herein are only what I garner from various sources of information. I offer it only as a topic you might research on your own!!
It appears from the article that bats contain some of the worst virus that could infect humans, such as Tacaribe virus, hendra, hipah, marburg and a host of families of the arenaviridae virus!
whew! quite a lot and most scary article I have ever read on human infecting diseases!!

p.s. oh and this also includes the HIV clade b etc type!

The only two mammals that are both highly social and live "indoors:" humans and bats.

Let's not go hating on bats now. The insect-eating bats help protect us against mosquito-born diseases like west nile and zika by eating their body weight in mosquitos every day. A couple pet bats would make camping trips to alpine lakes a lot more pleasant. Also, a couple live bats hanging on your pack, along with affecting a strong Romanian accent, would probably get you some isolation at crowded lakes.
Bats are having their own problems however: a fungal infection, white nose syndrome, is decimating US bat populations.

build a "bat house" and hang it up in a place where it won't be disturbed.
