One would think a human couldn't become attached to a nonliving thing as one would with an animal. But it is like an animal of sorts. We feed them with our energy and take care of them in our home.... Anyway, I've come attached to this bike that I only ride on occasion. I have it up for sale. Why? Space, money, maybe to focus on this other bike as "the best bike is the one you ride" my friend Troy once told me. I should get the day rolling, go clean the bike in question and give it a once over. A last over. So the bike is a snow bike. As fun as they are, I've been really wanting to get back into snowshoeing. All this bike stuff can be daunting for a hiker. With snowshoes you strap 'em on your feet and go. The air goes in your lungs and the pedal power goes to the legs. More energy, greater connection and freedom. Simplicity, why is it so difficult? Let go to move on....

I had to go to Google: “ Basically just dirt bikes with a tank-like tread system replacing the rear wheel and a ski replacing the front wheel, they are smaller, more nimble, and a lot cheaper than snowmobiles.”

Not sure about the "cheaper than snowmobile" part...a Timbersled new will run you about 10-15k for a kit and new motorcycle, plus you have to assemble it or pay someone. https://www.timbersled.com/en-us/

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Sometimes a break up is a good feeling😈 I’ve had bikes like that.

The bike is an extension of your body, though, so it's natural to feel attached. Selling a bike is what's unnatural, in fact I'm pretty sure it's an abomination in the eyes of the gods.

I think I am going to get rid of Old Snuffy I. I got this bike because I liked to commute to work via bike when possible. This bike was so low geared that I could make it up the dreaded Post Office Hill in granny gear. I seem to always live uphill from everything. That hill was brutal. I now ride Old Snuffy II. Old Snuffy II makes it up the dreaded no name hill where the super skinny lycra wearing cyclists have to zig zag to make it up. Most people push their bikes up that hill.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
