When we show we take LNT seriously, others also start taking LNT seriously. Just like wearing masks in public creates a social norm about wearing masks.
Not so sure about this. I was up at Rattlesnake and picking up trash a few weeks back. People looked at me like I was crazy, one lady asked "why" when I explained what I was doing and then I just received a deer in headlights look as she walked off passing several beer cans on her travels. People on this forum seem to have too much hope in society. There needs to be enforcement plain and simple. I'm sure there will be in 2050 when police drones are making the rounds, simply issue a ticket to your record using your inbuilt chip as ID, justice served.

Looks like Washington Hikers and Climbers Facebook group has gone private.

So the posts to WH&C will now only be visible to it's 262,000 members and not to all Facebook users. What a relief!

I think FB groups often flip the switch to private to combat spam. Guessing that might be the reason, although I don't follow the group so don't really know.

It was private for a while about a year ago too, then opened up again.
