I recently used two of the "Highlander Rucksack Transit Cover" (from Military 1st) for transporting my two backpacks on the plane. The cost for the covers was $37.
Although they did their job, I'm not sure I can really recommend them. The material is very thin and flimsy. One of them tore when I lifted it off the conveyor belt at the aiport when I arrived at my destination. i had to buy some Duct tape to patch it up so I could use it again for the return flight.
Something more durable would be better. Like maybe a canvas sack with straps or a large tough duffle bag.
But, it still beats transporting the backpacks without any cover where you have to try to tape up the straps and tuck them out of the way so they don't get caught on the airport conveyor belts.
