Given who currently is the head of the EPA I am skeptical of any new approvals or policies. I'll wait until the French and German health ministries give their approval before giving products based on the new chemical a try. Just because a chemical can be found in grapefruit doesn't make it safe, cyanide was originally extracted from almonds after all.
