Drive to the TH took me longer than I thought it would, so got a later than planned start. I had a headlamp, figured I'd be out after dark anyway. I definitely did that. Pleasant hike. Only other person there was camping on the summit, talked to him for about 30 seconds before I turned around and headed back. This seemed harder than the other time I did it...which unfortunately indicates how out of shape I am. Driving westbound on Hwy 2 is no problem after 11 pm on a Monday.

Is that snow at the summit? Sure is taking awhile to melt off! smile.gif

You don't find yourself standing at the top of a mountain without having started out in the valley.

We didn't introduce ourselves. But he was the only person on the trail, so if Steve spent Monday night on Scorpion that had to be him I ran into.

Some patches on the summit, but the trail was 90%+ melted out. Some basins on the north side below the trail still holding quite a bit. I was surprised at how few flowers were out yet. A nice patch of glacier lillies on top, a few other flowers here and there.

D'oh! I need to read better - my coworker was there over the weekend, not on monday. Looks like a nice place for sunset anyway
