It seems from scarce TRs most are going via Bedal to Sloan Peak...is there anyone who has been up via cougar creek lately? I called the ranger station and they said “be prepared for very unmaintained” but didn’t have any other info. I thought I would check here if anyone has been successful at at least reaching the glacier via the cougar creek approach or has that completely fallen from favor?

Not sure but it seems like the Cougar creek route has always been the referred one, especially when water flow is low as it is now. I think it's shorter, but not sure how much. I'm sure some real climbers will chime in with your info soon.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
