Apparently the White River lot is filling up quickly on weekends. Does anyone know what happens if you get there and it's full? Are you allowed to park on the side of the road, or are rangers turning people away?
Are you talking about the lot at the White River campground or the Sunrise lot?
The park does have capacity problems on sunny summer weekends as the infrastructure cannot support the number of visitors. The road to Sunrise is sometimes shut at the park entrance when the Sunrise parking lot fills up. Summerland/PHG trail parking has spilled out along the road far beyond the trailhead parking area.
For those curious:
At 12:45pm on Sunday, 1.5hr wait to get in through the White River entrance.
At that point, it was well into the afternoon, and there were plenty of empty parking spots (and also plenty of people parked on the side of the road).
