Had a late start due to a dead camera, had to head to Best Buy at 10am for a new one so figured i'd pick something shorter that i'd always been meaning to get to. Saw an amazing nurse tree as well as your standard Olympic giants. Trail to Storm King wastes no time climbing. I heard the hikers behind me decide to give it a try after the falls & i think they gave up after about 10 mins. End of the maintained trail was where it really got fun. And then the ropes started, i was thankful someone earlier on had mentioned the congestion at the top. I had slowed my pace way down & it paid off by the time i arrived. The view of Lake Crescent was amazing and more grand than i expected. The earth just rises so dramatically from the shores. Had some lunch and then headed down the ropes. Not one i would dedicate a whole day to but when you are under time constraints, it makes for a great hike - WAtrails.com
