I am seeking Signpost issue November 1985. It can be original or scanned and emailed. I have tried other avenues but no luck. Anybody out there have one to share?

Thank you, Mike. The library is a fair drive away so I'll try contacting them about a digital copy.

I have 60's & 70's and many '80's of Signpost. Let me see if I have that issue; will check when I get home from the oficina. Unless you're already dealing with a librarian, that is.

Hi Kim,
I may have a lead from the librarian in Tacoma. So, stand down for the moment. Thank you! So far, anyway.

Excellent. Let me know; I'll probably go through them anyway and try to guess what you're looking for!

DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNER:
The Tacoma Public Library answered my query and sent me scanned images in PDF form.
Thank you Mike for the lead and to you Kim for your willingness to go dig into your archive.
I love Libraries. And, NWhikers.net.

Glad to have been helpful in your quest. Reference librarians are an asset for all of us and now that libraries are closed they are vital. JSTOR has extended free membership because of libraries being closed. That search engine is often helpful but I didn’t find WTA Signpost in their extensive digital collection.

I've been away for a long time.
For information on the writings of Karen Sykes, including her collection of Signposts and a complete set of Mountaineer Annuals vist the archives of Utah State University.
They had contacted me about all of her writing, columns, contributions and poetry.
I thought it a fitting memorial for her.

Bob, how did Utah become interested in Karen's work? Of course it's awesome.
Skookum, I do have that issue; lots of history writeup in that issue!

Utah State is growing its archives of Western writers.
They originally wanted her poetry and when I explained about her outdoor writing they jumped on it.
I don't have a direct link but the Annuals are supposed to be in their digital library.
It took 17 banker box size cartons to ship them everything. On their dime at least.
They wanted everything including books, think hers and all the other guidebooks.
Lots of Harvey Manning's stuff. She also had virtually all of the Signposts from 1979 on.
Many of which contained her reports and articles.
They also took all of her P-I Hike of the Week columns.
I warned them to expect a lot of stuff.

Ok, thanks.
I haven't been able to find it but I will keep trying.
