I'm posting this in defiance of the pandemic, the fires, and the whole farked up 2020 situation. IN YOUR FACE troubled times! I refuse to be crushed underfoot. I hope you enjoy these pictures, and remember friends, FORZA! It means strength. A little bit goes a long way these days. Hang in there people. End of July trip to the Chelan Sawtooth Wilderness. Bugs were awful. Nobody at Middle Oval but me. Mission accomplished. I saw a momma grouse on the trail pretending to be hurt. She stuck her wing out. I started walking waaayy around her, and I saw a little golf ball size chick run out from under the mom, across the trail and under a bush. Mom's are special.
Courtney Peak
Rock was falling off that face at least once an hour the whole time.
2 man tent that makes for a nice size one man.
Composition.
This is an Osprey staring at you. I couldn't zoom any further. When this pic is on a 65 inch tv, it looks like the Osprey is staring back at the camera. He probably was.
Sparkly.
It is yellow, but still blends in ok.
Best Lupine concentration I have seen in a while. I think they were thicker on Dickerman once.
Flaky
Local character
This thing did not want to be photgraphed, i got 6 out of focus shots. The last one worked.
Everybody knows this rock, after the turnoff to West Oval.
All burnt down low. Goes by fast on the way in, not on the way out. You know how that it is.

Very interesting picture!

It is as though I had read a divine text, written into the world itself, not with letters but rather with essential objects, saying: Man, stretch thy reason hither, so thou mayest comprehend these things. Johannes Kepler

Thanks Kascadia. That is a closeup of the w/nw face of the point just North of Courtney, on Buttermilk ridge. I think some of the dark shapes of the zoomed shot look like ancient soldier helmets. Sort of.

Ha, yeah my 2 person Nemo tent is also perfect for 1. I haven't yet tried squeezing 2 people into it.

I saw a pic from a gear review website where they got two guys into this (two man) tent. It looked like those old pics of college students trying to stuff themselves into a phone booth. They got two people in the tent, but it was sure cramped.

Those blue, smoke-free skies seem like a distant memory.
