The Corona virus has allowed my wife, a friend and myself to get out and take many short hikes around Central Oregon. I have managed to get a lot of fairly decent pictures, but I have still not been able to figure out the secret to post them. I think age is a factor(85 tomorrow).
Is there any one out there in NW Hiker land that would be willing to list their email address, accept photos and a narrative and post them for us contributors that are digitally impaired?
Kind souls have done it for me in the past.
We here in Oregon are suffering from the worst set of wild fires since I moved from Washington to Oregon in 1960. The North Fork of the Santiam looks like it's nearly all burned out as well as a good stretch of the McKenzie and Clackamas Rivers. These were among the prettiest drives in the state. I'm not sure how many campgrounds and hiking trails are affected. Most fires are 0 percent controlled so it looks like we will have to wait for rain. Some is forecast for later in the week but who knows. Smoke and air quality in any given area is dependent on the wind direction. We here in Central Oregon have been down to 1/4 mile visibility for the past 2 days, and predicted to continue for awhile. Sad.
