Larry Phill and I climbed Mt Angeles Third Pk. on October 6th, 2020. Had a beautiful, clear day. We left Hurricane Ridge and did the trail below the main peak.

At 2.8 miles we joined the switchback trail coming up from the road below. In another mile the top of the ridge is reached. Here the trail goes down to Lake Angeles and also over to Second Top. The route basically starts here, but is best if you leave the trail about .1 miles back down the trail from the top (from the ridge). From there just head to the furthest rock rib that's visible coming down from the summit area. The second photo shows the main peak as seen from the switchback trail. The third photo shows the route as seen from the top of the trail near the ridge-saddle.

There's another rib coming down from the top, which separates another scree gully. It might work also, but we went up the one furthest west. We stayed close to the rocks on the side of the rib to stay out of the scree as much as possible. About 2/3 up, the rib ends, and we angled a bit to the right and into the scree, heading for the rocks on the other side. After about 150-200 ft. we angled left and headed for one the two easiest notches at the west of some more difficult routes. Pretty easy, with some basic class 3 above the notch.

The last pics are taken from the approx.area of the angle in the route. The final shot is a bit lower and looks down at the route back to the saddle.
