For me this was much more interesting than the conjunction. I had no idea this could be possible. I just got some (not very good) practice photos with a 300 mm lens on a full frame body. Some things I noticed:
* They look like one star to the naked eye but you can see the separation through the camera.
* Jupiter shines.
* The "rule of 600" applies; err faster instead of slower. With a 200 mm lens, keep the shutter speed below 3 seconds. With a 300 mm, 2 seconds. A 600 mm should be less than a second.
* I wish I had a teleconverter.
* The four visible moons of Jupiter are Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. These are the Galilean moons.
* The moons are in a straight line. They're less crisp unless you use an even faster shutter speed which is very difficult.
* Saturn's rings are not visible at 300 mm.
Obviously use a tripod.

Just right of center near the horizon. Those lines above the water on the left are the Fauntleroy / Vashon Island ferry.
