...names. https://grumpygeophysicist.wordpress.com/2021/01/25/depeopling-peaks/ To this I would like to add my own rant about Deer, Bear and Rock Creek! rant.gif I would much prefer they all get replaced by Native American names, even if some end up being Tshletshy. Surely we could put our heads together and figure out how to do this.

I don't mind native names here and there. But when there are too many they just run together for me and I can't remember what's Nookhooseii’iini’ and what's Neeteekoonee-niicii-hehe’, much less spell them. I suspect the same is true for most people. I think it's more reasonable to give fairly prominent or important peaks native names and leave the rest. For example, I would be more than happy to have Mt. Rainier officially renamed Tahoma (similarly to how Mt. McKinley went to Denali). Does anyone know of a list of known native peak names in the Cascades?

I'm fine with most name changes, as long as they don't mess with Bumpass Hell.
