Casual 3-day trip up the Chewuch River to the summit of Remmel. Hiked to Four Point Lake the first day, climbed the peak and moved camp back down to Horseshoe Creek the second day, hiked out on the third. The peak was easy--snowshoes with heel lifters made it just a big staircase with some rocks at the top. Crossing the river was the most stressful bit--sketchy log on the way in and knee-deep ford on the way out. Moose tracks on the first several miles of trail. Great early season outing, and reminder that carrying a pack changes the game a bit.

Yikes. They do look very bouncy.
Great report. I really liked the wildflower shots. Some artful compositions in there. That showy white flowery shrub in the beginning was interesting. Not sure what it was. ~z

Nice early season trip and so many beautiful photos! It looks like the snow is gradually starting to melt, summer in the Pasayten is on its way!
I wish someone would throw another log over that crossing at Horseshoe Creek, it’s been like that for several years. It’s a short distance, but those two logs are so skinny!

Maybe serviceberry, with the white flowers?

Yes I believe so. Raspberries on the trail too. Going to be tasty in a few months.

You were busy over that weekend! What a nice looking trip, and great pics. I'd like to hear more.
I remember Remmel from the inside of a cloud. The views were, well, territorial. At least the kid (my eldest) remembered the M&Ms, which, we can assert from experimentation, do melt in the rain.
