I drove to Port Townsend yesterday to take care of family. All of the plants along the way looked heat stressed. A lot of leaves down on the ground in Seattle, and a lot of brown ones in the trees. It looks like September.

Here we go again. Particularly Thursday - Friday August 12th and 13th look very hot. The 500mb heights get to 592-593 DM and 850 mb chart (GFS) shows temps of 26C over Seattle and up to 31-32C along the Cascade Crest at 5000'. Worse, these numbers keep rising. Saturday looks to begin a cooling trend. So, Seattle will get close to 100F especially on Friday. Mountain temps may get close to 90F. Oh yeah, and this time the hottest weather will be accompanied by smoke - hopefully not near the surface.
