We could smell and see the smoke at 6000 feet above Newhalem this morning. Strange mix of smoke/haze and marine clouds.

I'm just posting images from the site below, which I got from Cliff Mass's site. The biggest problem is it doesn't forecast very far out in the future. https://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrr/HRRRsmoke/

Back in the good ole days, they called it smog.

Looks like I'll be heading to the Olympics this weekend
I will be out in the Olympics for a total of 34 days from July 5 to August 10. This stretches over four separate trips. Already have all my permits lined up. Rumi

Speaking of fireworks, I see a few courageous towns in WA and elsewhere have banned use of fireworks for the 4th
Not just for the 4th. But like you said, enforcement is the problem.

You don't need to go to Mass's site; just google or bookmark HRRR Smoke

I think at best we should expect hazy skies for the foreseeable future. There are so many fires in BC that there is no way they will get them all under control. https://governmentofbc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/f0ac328d88c74d07aa2ee385abe2a41b Then there are also 2 good-sized fires near Mt. Shasta, although it is likely they will be controlled. There is just not enough weather going on to bring in nice, clear air. I can save weight by not carrying a camera.......

Today was a little hazy on Thorp Mountain, but I couldn't smell smoke and could still see Rainier. On the way out at the Sno-Park that doubles as dispersed camping, an official-looking white truck with the word "fire" on it was cruising around. Nobody camping at the dispersed sites higher up on the road, probably due to the fire ban.

Do you think if you rigged up 100 power blowers up into one BIG power blower it could blow away the undesired conditions? I'm thinkin it might

Only if you mounted the contraption on your shoulders.
