I'm sick of cold ankles! I prefer merino wool for a base layer but will take a look at pretty much anything that's at least a 33 inch inseam. Any recommendations? (I do know that Athleta often has tall sizes, but from what I've seen, their tights are more the standalone kind and not so much the kind you'd wear under pants as a base layer.)

My experience with men's sizes is that long bottoms can be found, but they won't be lightweight. The hunting department at sporting goods stores or whatever department sells to outdoor laborers will usually have some options. Don't know if that's true for women's sizes.

L L Bean carries just about everything in Tall sizes. I’m wearing one of their Tall shirts as I type this. I wear Helly Hansen Lifa at a 32 inches inseam. Size Tall.
