Did I read somewhere that August is glacier inventory and measurement month for Cascade/volcano glaciers?
I kayaked Sauk River above D-ton last week and spoke to my otter and osprey friends. They are sick of fishing in chocolate mocha glacial melt from White Chuck and Suiattle.
I have great fear our glaciers are in heap big trouble.
Is this inventory time?

Not sure about the inventory. What I would like to see is the US geographical survey redo the aerial photography that Austin Post did in the early sixties. A whole lot of the photos Becky used in his climbing guides were those of Austin.

North Cascade Glacier Climate Project was done yearly by Mauri S. Pelto and his team. Don’t know if they are still doing this. Mauri is a member here. Forum name Peltoms.
