Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Drove over to Winthrop yesterday. The larches on the Loup are at peak prettiness now. Tonight and onward, it is supposed to rain pretty good so I imagine the colors won't last much longer. I imagine that Dog Lake is at peak right now also.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Mt. Spokane on Tuesday. Never mind. Attaching the picture didn't work. Too bad. It was good.

I went to Petit lake about a week ago, was going to fish, but the lake was so low I would have had to wade through a lot of mud to reach the water. Been fishing that lake for years and the fish are always the same size, from 6"-8"...thinking since it's a small and shallow lake, the fish are winter killed and planted every spring.

Sherman Pass was breathtaking yesterday in the rain. So was the prescribed burn going on the Republic side of the pass.

Disautel Pass was pretty but doesn't have as many larches as The Loup.

On the North Fork Salmon Creek road up from Conconully. smile.gif
I took a little drive to see what the Muckamuck fire had done. Turned around just a bit beyond here due to too much traffic. Deer season.
