Polls are now closed. Congrats to the top 4 in each category and thanks to all who participated in the contest this year! To order a calendar click HERE. Best mixbook coupon code is currently RPTWBCE1 (50% off and free standard shipping). With that code medium calendars are $14.49 and large calendar are $19.99 plus tax. Would highly recommend ordering sooner rather than later if you want calendars before Christmas! For additional discounts click thru from giving assistant or another cash back portal after adding calendars to your cart. We do not control the pricing of calendars or get a kickback from purchases, so order if you want a physical calendar or to give as gifts, but the best way to support NWH is to just remember to use our amazon affiliate link (at the top or bottom of the page) when you make purchases from amazon. See here for more information.

Ok, I am confused. I tried to vote on the finalists and it showed my cover vote and then 2 other choices (vote for this one) and I assumed my cover vote was not a finalist so I clicked on one of the other options and then my original vote had the "vote for this one under it"? Isn't it down to two?

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Cover voting is down to 3 images in the final round, I think Tom was just referring to the two of those three that are in the lead in the moment.

In some months 3 photos made it to the finals round. In other months third place was pretty much decided so we limited it to two moving into the finals. I guess it's a little confusing. If it shows you voted for a photo that photo is in the finals. Otherwise your choice from the primary would have disappeared and you would need to re-vote.

I'm still working on my coffee, but where is the calendar thread? I went to check whether I need to send a high res image or not and it's gone?

Click on the "top 4" link in Tom's post of Dec. 2, 12:53 am, above. I hope Tom can restore the calendar thread so everyone can admire the photos--both winners and those that didn't quite make it!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

To allow for a more diverse NWH calendar this year, BarbE and awilsondc have both graciously abdicated their closest races to the runner up. Each won 3 calendar pages this year, and it only seemed fair to spread the love given so many amazing photos contributed by the NWH community. Curiously enough the closest race was actually between BarbE and awilsondc, with the page going to BarbE by a single vote in June. The next 2 closest races were February and October, separated by a handful of votes, so second place was bumped to the calendar page in those months. BarbE mentioned she actually voted for the resulting larch winner in October, so was happy to see it make the calendar page. The calendar is almost ready to go, just waiting for captions from 1 person, so will have an order link up soon!

Choosing between the top two cover photos was nearly impossible imo. The second place photo was so amazing in it's own right that I would have chosen it over EVERY other photo in the monthly section. Is there a way that it can be implemented onto the calendar, maybe the back cover? At any rate, as usual, it will be an amazing calendar!

The second place cover prints quite large on the back cover if you preview the calendar on mixbook. Not really a big difference from the front cover since front doesn't necessarily hang on the wall an entire month, not to mention runner up is surrounded by some fine company on the back cover. We could always put up a second calendar link if there is demand. Logistical issues come down to requesting full rez photos from second place entrants and juggling the photos and captoins which does take some time.

Thank you so much for doing this, Tom! The coupon code worked great. I know after making calendars for my family that this takes a lot of time and work to coordinate.

FYI, I sent a calendar to some relatives in Scotland in the same mailer it arrived in. The postal clerk said it was "too rigid" to be sent regular mail and would have to be treated as a parcel. Postage cost me $26 for the one calendar via first class mail! I've sent them to Scotland in the past, but after transferring to a 9"x12" envelope, and it went as regular mail.
