Did a leisurely tour of the central fall colors via Cayuse --> White --> Snoqualmie passes. The wind never got too strong, so the foliage likely has a little more time here.
First stop was to check out the larches at Dog Lake.
Next stop was Cowiche Canyon. The path was a little too rocky for a wheelchair, so it was a slooow crutch walk. Turned around after the first aspen grove on the eastern end.
Then we headed over to the Tieton River trail, an old favorite.
Dusk fell soon after, so it was time for beverages and food at Cowiche Creek Brewing (highly recommend!).
On Sunday we picked apples at Thompson Farm (also recommended) before heading up Hwy 821 to Ellensburg. Colors were at peak in the canyon.
Next stop was Irene Rinehart Park, where the colors continued to impress.
After a few scenic detours, we headed over Snoqualmie Pass, with a brief side trip to Borst Lake.
We really are lucky to live in such a beautiful state

Oh man, that looks great! The one and only time I drove past Borst Lake, it was winter. Still good, but nothing really special like it is in your photo.

Very nice. I believe these are Quercus garryana or Oregon White Oak / Garry Oak. You can see them all along I-5 heading south through Lakewood and the Ft. Lewis area then all the way to Oregon. Now I know where else to look for them. Great report. ~z

There is even a Garry Oak Trail, albeit short at the base of Cowiche Mountain.

I went to CWU, and I don't think I ever knew the name of the park. Everybody just called the area "Peoples Pond."
