80! Seems impossible. I first heard the MB's in a high school art class. Someone our teacher invited in for a presentation used "Days of Future Passed" as a slideshow soundtrack. It made an impression and I was a fan from then on. Still my favorite album of theirs. The lyrics to this tune really captured part of what I feel being out in the wilderness, up high, in the morning.

I first heard Days of Future Passed and To Our Children's Children's Children the summer of 1970 while on the remote shores of Nushagak Bay in western Alaska. "Nights In White Satin" followed with Graeme Edge's "Late Lament" had an especially powerful impact when heard in that environment.
I have been a fan forever. Started listening to these guys in our Ballard basement about the time I started backpacking. Watched DOFP spin as the needle dropped and when the music began, I literally passed into a dream.
Unlikely they will ever tour again now; only Mike, Justin and John remain....RIP Graeme; I always enjoyed those poems!
