There is currently 13 inches of snow depth at Snoqualmie Pass

The standard Rachel Lake TH is close in elevation and proximity to Snoqualmie Pass so I would expect similar snow depths. As the road isn't plowed, only exceptional high clearance vehicles with oversized off road tires are likley to be able to reach the trailhead.
The snow depths mid mountain at Alpental are probably comparable to what you will find at Rachel Lake. Currently about 20 inches of snow depth there.

These sort of conditions can be slow and wet going. There is enough snow to interfere with easy walking and enough snow weight to load slide alder branches down to block the trail. But not yet enough snow depth to fully cover brush and create base that can be easily skied over.

I know those conditions very well. We cut our Christmas tree from this area last year. One hour walk in the snow from Lake Kachess campground and a three hour drag back with a 12' tree. I was hoping to get out there before the snow was too deep but no way I'm doing that again. Maybe I'll go in October next year.
