Taken just 2 hours ago. Note how much the glacier has receded.

This is a result of local warming. Scientists have told us for decades the heat from Instagram running on your phone is melting all the best ski glaciers. bawl.gif If people would just stop talking Facegram and Instabook into the mountains, they'd stop melting.

That can't be Mt. Si - There aren't enough people on it. And if I remember right that glacier is dynamic - it gets built up over the winter and is really only visible in Early April wink.gif

I unironically love Mt Si lol. At least in the winter when the parking lot is mostly empty.

The one and only time I hiked Mt. Si was in either late November or in December (can’t remember exactly when) and saw only a handful of people and the parking lot was pretty empty.

I heard a few weeks back that one of the N. Bend locals skied the south facing gully since the rare snow cover made it possible. I believe that Martin V. from Pro Ski has done it before also. Looks like a very gnarly descent!

12/27/2015 Si ski descent nwhikers thread. The article link is broken now, but this one works - Snoqualmie Valley Record's article. Also on TAY and YouTube. If someone finds more detail of the recent ski that dixon referenced please post a link. Maybe on FB? I don't frequent that site.

I hiked Little Si and Mt. Si a few weeks ago and I passed two guys skinning up Old Si Trail with skis. Maybe that was them.
