Elevator union has a couple differences from other construction trades. Steelworkers walk away from the building. Elevator techs do the ongoing ITM. Every elevator built creates future employment to the trade. They are also the pool the state hires their elevator licensing inspectors from. Once upon a time just about everybody you met, male and female, had a grandpa in the trade. It was just about the most difficult union to get in. The massive increase in number of elevators finally broke that lock.

Keep Calm and Carry On? Heck No. Stay Excited and Get Outside!
