22NOV went all the way to where the trailhead - about 8 miles. Easy stroll, but 16 miles round trip is still 16 miles :-) Not all that much to see on the road. A few peek-a-boo views. A lot of little waterfalls. Enjoy my boring video of my boring logging road hike. I am playing w/ GoPro and YouTube, to please feel free to roast me. I am not very good at this, but trying. Or offer suggestions....

On a related note, anyone know the status of the old Meadow mountain? route-trail? that begins not far past Canyon creek and leads to Saddle lake?

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

I know I tried it about 8 or 10 years ago and did not make it to Saddle Lake. I didn't get lost, but couldn't find my way to Saddle Lake. The old trail is flagged on this road that I did.

We rode bikes on the road a few years ago... but things change! Also there was a project where the Meadow Mtn trail was worked on a few years ago. I'm not sure if they finished, but it went really well for quite a ways. Likely it has some new blowdowns though...

The Meadow Mountain trail is doable if you're not in a hurry. I did it with my son a year ago in September. We got turned around a few times but the trail is easy to follow under the trees and not so much in the meadows. We did see the largest piles of bear scat I have ever seen.

Not bad on a mountain bike. I think there are two big washouts to walk but otherwise ok.

Easily. Maybe a downed tree or two. There is only one washout you can see here.
