I am looking to get a flat tarp of Dyneema to replace my old silnylon 5'X8'. Looking for something of similar size or larger up to 8'X10'. In my mind a 7'X9' would actually be the perfect size. Lots of tie-outs to maximize configuration options. So far the least expensive tarps are Zpacks, but I have been less than pleased with their quality control in the past. Not sure if that has changed. Also, they have the fewest tie-outs I have come across. Have looked at Hyperlite and Dutchware. They are similarly priced (though more than Zpacks and look to have good quality sewing and all.
My 5'X8' silnylon tarp is still doing me great service but I am looking to lighten the weight. I use the tarp when hiking with my partner as a quick shelter from weather and in camp to have a cooking/eating area out of the rain. We have used this as such many many times and has really saved our ass a few times. A Dyneema tarp of similar dimensions is about half the weight, and at 69yo I need all the help I can afford with reducing pack weight. Not interested in DIY project. Most hammock tarps are bigger than what I want or need.
Anyway, if anyone has a suggestion I have not mentioned, let me know. We are planning on doing 500 to 800 miles of PCT next summer, so this is not an immediate need.

You might check out Seattle tent and awning. Pretty sure they could help you.

Check out this Hammock Gear dyneema tarp. They are a great company with outstanding service. Browse their site, they have other dyneema tarps as well.
Edit: under the shop tab, look under "Ground".

Wow, that is what I was hoping to find. Though I had looked at their website, I did not think to check on that tab. Thanks!

Most hammock campers don't like to admit they have clicked on the "Ground" tab for fear they will be accused of being a ground hog. My main backpacking buddies call me that all the time if I bring a tent.

I have used the Zpacks flat and 8.5 x 10 tarp for three summers and I really like it.

Rumi, What kind of issues did you have with Zpacks quality control?
Just asking because I have used my Zpacks Dyneema 9x7 flat tarp for about 40 times over the past two years without a problem. Should I be expecting one?

The issues I have personally noticed were all sewing issues like bunching up of fabric, uneven stiching, crooked seems, ugly seems, uneven hems, etc. It just seemed to be all over the place quality of sewing, which often shortens the life of the piece. As of right now I only have two pieces of Zpacks gear and they are minor items. I have inspected many Zpacks items that belonged to other people and noticed the same issues. Talking with other people, I have heard similar comments about the sewing issues, but that is hearsay because I did not personally see their gear.
And to be fair, I have also personally seen many pieces of Zpacks gear which looked very well sewn and put together. And whatever sewing issues they had, Zpack may have worked them out and that is all a thing of the past. I haven't seen much of others' gear in the last two years anyway.
In the end, if you are satisfied with the quality of the construction of your tarp I would imagine it will last a long time with no problems. Zpacks used to be very amenable to making "custom" mods to their gear. I don't know if that is still the case.
