I've been making friends with a stray cat for a very long time. She started gaining weight, getting friendly, and finding places to nest, then brought 7 tiny babies into the world. I wanted to share some photos because they're adorable. Pixie is adjusting to her new life as a house cat. She's really enjoying warmth, shelter, good food she doesn't have to catch, love, catnip, and every kind of toy. She's getting spayed next month and her kittens all have forever homes.

Cats are funny, my Mom had 2 cats that I inherited...they are both females and indoor only cats and being up here in the North Woods, they have been isolated and are scared of everything. My 14 year old male is not really that aggressive, but they are scared to death of him and won't leave the room. If so they run, he chases and it sounds like bloody murder. I was trimming some new green feet insoles for my boots and saved a small cut off section and my cat loves it, especially with the hard wood floors, probably more than any "cat toy" he has had...the simple pleasures in life.

One of them has a curly tail, like a corkscrew. It's maybe 1/3 the length of a normal cat tail. Just like mom. I'm delighted because Pixie's tail is short and bent in two places, I thought it had been slammed in a door. I'm thinking about calling that one Corky. And then another would be Bess.
