Looking to do a long day hike in the Mt. Baker area. Been looking at Damfino Lakes or other possibilities. Any info or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks BW

I have hiked the High Divide trail from Damfino Lakes to Excelsior Pass, lots of lush meadows and views of Baker and Shuksan when the weather is good. Although the 'trail' may seem longer than others in the area as it goes all the way to Welcome Pass it's just as easy to hike 'off trail' along the ridges to Church Mountain or elsewhere. Even the 'short' trails in the area like Skyline Divide have well established trails that go on for miles along the ridges. The only really long official trail that I'm aware of is the one to the Copper Ridge Lookout (Hannehan Pass) which is 20 miles round trip.
