Employment Opportunity with Seattle Public Utilities Naturalist Temporary, Part-time Application Deadline: Open until filled. Location: Cedar River Watershed Education Center, North Bend, WA Hours: 30 hours/week (Feb. 22 -June 15) Tuesday-Friday (June 16-August 21) Weds.-Sunday Pay: $18.82/hour plus premium pay in lieu of benefits. Work Description: Join Seattle Public Utilities' award-winning interpretive team to provide environmental education programs for elementary and middle school students during the spring, and interpretive programs for families, adults and small groups during the summer. Primary Duties: Plan, develop and deliver school environmental education programs. Plan, develop and deliver interpretive programs for general audiences. Desired Qualifications: Experience in developing and delivering thematic interpretive programs and hands-on environmental education programs incorporating knowledge of Pacific Northwest natural and cultural history Minimum Qualifications: Two years experience delivering environmental education and/or interpretive programs. B.A. or B. S. in Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Education, or a related field (or a combination of education, training and experience). Experience working with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Excellent communication, customer relations and teamwork skills. Ability to spend long periods of time standing, walking or hiking in all types of weather conditions in a forested environment. Current Washington State Driver's License. Basic computer skills. Ability to successfully complete first aid/CPR training if not currently certified.
