> Save Our Wild Salmon (SOS) is a nationwide coalition of conservation

> oral communication, public speaking, and attention to detail. Strong

> PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Coalition’s outreach objectives, including crafting outreach
> workplans. Supervise SOS outreach staff, hire and supervise contract
> employees for outreach as needed, and manage outreach contracts with
> campaign partners.

> -- Assist the Associate Director with budget preparation, tracking
and
> reporting and have lead responsibility for managing the outreach
> budget.

> -- Lead campaign outreach activities in the Northwest and nation,
such
> as events; constituency outreach; and coordinating outreach
activities
> with policy and communications staff and campaign teams, including
> targeting key states, districts and media markets for outreach.

> -- Assist Policy Director in identifying the campaign’s geographic
> priorities, and identify and seize outreach opportunities that
> increase the visibility of campaign messages in targeted areas.
>
> -- Engage organizations, members and allies in the campaign and
ensure
> effective access by the campaign to national and regional group
> memberships, activists, publications and websites.
>
> -- Coordinate outreach events, comment generation, and other showings
> of public support around the country, including legislative efforts
in
> targeted states and Congressional districts. Educate decision makers
> where appropriate.

> -- Take lead responsibility for outreach in Oregon, including making
> presentations, tabling, phone banking and other organizing efforts,
or
> recruiting volunteers for these activities.

> -- Work with program staff to identify, develop and train messengers
> for outreach, including recruiting local messengers for national
> editorial board visits, events, elected leader contact, and salmon
> shuttle trips to DC. Top priority will be business, economic, fishing
> and other non-traditional messengers.

> -- Produce outreach materials (written, visual, and electronic), such
> as slideshows, banners, stickers, mailers, action alerts, and
relevant
> website content. Ensure effective distribution of campaign materials,
> including marketing the campaign website nationally as an active,
> effective tool for citizen involvement.

> -- Work with Communications Director and outreach staff to organize
> Letters to the Editor and Op-Eds when needed.

> -- Work with other outreach staff to grow and maximize use of the
> database to advance campaign visibility and activism through email
> alerts, advocate newsletters, and other means.

> Salary is $40,000-$45,000 DOE. We offer full medical, dental and
