Hiking/camping with two bright, alpine-experienced seven-year-olds. Would prefer at least one other adult along. Moderate hiking pace plus some alpine rambling exploration from basecamp. Duration flexible; prefer two nights. Preliminary list of alternative destinations: Myrtle Lake/Little Myrtle Lake Rachel Lake/Rampart Ridge Summit Lake/Bearhead Mt. We’re open to other destination suggestions.

I suggest Surprise and Glacier lakes, good area for roaming with kids, lots of side trails as the PCT passes through and the old trail to Surprise pass is still followable. Heather/Glasses lake on the Little Wenatchee is also pretty and fairly simple. Heather is OK, Glasses is way cool.
