We spent sometime on the road with the friendly Mt. Beaver we meet. So we got there late, TH around 11:30, first part of the hike was not good, straight up and in the hot sun, going up the ridge by the TH. The only thing good about the this part of the trail was the views, Rainier, Sloan, Columbia, Kyle, ect.. But after about 800 ft. straight up, you come to a forest cool shaded and the trail goes up at a pretty fair clip, but not as bad as the first part. Then you come to a meadow, where you can see the Lookout and more of all the Mt. mentioned earlier. Lots of flowers and views. The haze was even at a low, it got worse later on our way back down the mt. Although the Lookout is locked, you can walk all the way around it and get a pretty good view of the mt. Glacier was nice, i believe maybe one mt. to the southest might even be Mt. Steward, in the enchantments, (althought i am not sure). Spent about an hour at the Lookout, the bugs were the worse there, but the wind would blow a little and they would go away for a while then come back. It was really a great hike, great day..
