This weekend I'm starting the coast hike from Cape Alava to Oil City - first time. I've been awaiting this for months. We'll have a party of four - my son, my brother-in-law from Massachusetts, and a friend from work. I'll write up an extended trip report when I get back. Cheers!

Was you ever bit by a dead bee?

Have fun! My wife and I have gone on a beach hike out there every year since I got back from grad. school in Beantown--7 years now. When we had kids, we started taking them. This is the first year my wife has missed the trip (she's 7+ months pregnant). Over the years we've done everything from Shi Shi to Goodman Creek. I still need to cover Goodman Creek to Oil City. It's a great family trip.
