Are there any burn bans in effect right now? And, more importantly, how do you find out about them? Is there anything more central than finding every resource (e.g. forest service, county fire department, whatever) and looking them up on the web or calling them? Especially an on-line resource, I've overheard wrong answers from various questions asked the USFS person located in REI.

Even the Olympic NP, including the coast except for beach fires below the high tide line.

Is this normal for this time of year, or just because we haven't had rain in as long as I can remember?

Normal as far as I remember. Maybe a little more severe because of the terrible fire season we've had. TB
