the early LRRP ration was dehydrated or freeze-dried, depending on the meal. the modern version of it is called MCW/LRP and is freeze-dried, made by mountain house. MCW/LRP is basically a freeze-resistant MRE, but because they cost a lot more than MRE's they aren't as easy to find.
