ITA had this in FB. If you click the link, then click the map you can find project location and description. Far north Idaho. Catered, with camp cook, pack horses haul in gear. Maybe free? ITA often requires a $50 deposit to make sure you show up, that’s later refunded. I’d call. Best. Pyrites We're looking for two volunteers to fill some last minute cancellations on our Russell Ridge project. Ever been to the beautiful Selkirks in North Idaho? This is your chance to experience the North Idaho backcountry in the land of peaks, lookouts, and caribou. All food will be packed in and provided by the legendary Pat Hart and her Bonner's District trail crew. Project is July 22nd-28th. A teaser from ITA. They’ll have some projects in the backcountry of the Frank Church Wilderness that start with flying in to remote airstrips by light aircraft. Best. Pyrites https://us14.campaign-archive.com/?u=8c6a1136cbb2455c47bd826e0&id=be0ec7c37d

Hey, Thanks for the updates on ITA. I attended a benefit for another group last night, The Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation, and they are also doing some great work in Idaho. They have a program for Wilderness Ranger fellows where young folks and others gain valuable training in resource and recreation management by spending a summer out on the trails in these wilderness areas. https://www.selwaybitterroot.org/fellowship Trail projects are in the works that haven't been posted for 2019 yet, so check back later. There are some job openings and other volunteer opportunities such as cabin and lookout hosts for the upcoming year as well. http://www.selwaybitterroot.org Edit: Reviewing this thread I see that tmatlack also posted on SBFC earlier. up.gif

Below is another good organization. I am friends with one of the board members and they do great stuff...no politics...just boots on the ground advocacy/stewardship/ and much much sweat. http://www.selwaybitterroot.org/ Tom

Snow (Goat) Peak Lookout trail. Snow Peak lookout might be one of the last lookouts built primarily as part of the fire program, not as a historical project. 1972 as I recall. ON THE NE corner of the Clearwater, accessed through the St Joe National Forest (IPNF). Cut and paste from FB: ‘We need some volunteers for our Snow Peak Lookout Project from August 2-8! Snow Peak Lookout Trail 55 is one of the most popular hiking and equestrian trails on the St. Joe Ranger District in North Central Idaho. We'll be working on the last mile of trail up to the historic lookout. All your food will be provided on this full-supported trip! ‘ https://www.idahotrailsassociation.org/2020/02/snow-peak-lookout-trail/

ITA 2021 volunteer projects. Note in the last couple years they’ve added trail condition surveys as a regular category. https://www.idahotrailsassociation.org/2021-trail-projects/
