Among topics covered in this treatise are mining, trapping, logging, and settlement history. Photos of locations including the confluence of Ruby Creek and the Skagit River ( pre-Ross Lake) add interest. I find the descriptions and old photos of early trail and road building particularly fascinating. It is exhilarating to locate traces some of these historic routes.
