Good news, for sure. These are the fights worth having. Rumor is that Ivanka and Don Jr. lobbied dad hard for this result. No matter, I'm glad it's dead and hope it never comes up again.

Agree with permanent protection need. But done in a way that mobilizes Alaska's citizens to take the needed action. Fishermen, hunters, paddlers, recreationalalists of all kinds, heck, even AKIPs and nationalists who don't want a foreign-owned company wrecking the place. Having Murray and Cantwell moralizing and finger-wagging will have exactly the opposite of the desired outcome. Alaska doesn't belong to Washington State's Seattle delegation.
