Pulling for an all PNW final and UNC doesn't really need anymore basketball success like we do.

That got TENSE down the stretch, but they held on. Playing for a National Championship on Monday, didn't think that would ever happen. Wow!

Enough with the "most wins by any college player ever" Just because Karnowski blew out his back doesn't make him special. He's a big hack.

Sloppy because it was poorly officiated from the get-go and the players on both sides recognized it. Indecisive and inconsistent play on both sides of the ball due to ticky-tack calls by the striped-shirts. It made a great matchup of styles into a hard to watch game. It's a shame that for all we pay for organized sports (re: cable and internet bills) that we can't have better officiating across the board in at least every televised sport. Pay-raise the refs, pay-freeze the execs.

Yes, the game was not pleasing to the eyes. The NCAA cannot be very happy with that, the culmination of the season and the showcase event. I've been advocating for refs to be replaced by robots for years. They were truly awful last night, ruined the game.

"Bump" for 2019-20 season. A joy to watch with some big players, they'll be ranked #1 in the polls on Monday. dizzy.gif

Gonzaga has truly stepped into the upper echelon. They are now losing players early to the NBA regularly, but just reload the next year. Their women's team is really good too. edited--the GU men just ran thru a gauntlet of road games at Washington and Arizona and then North Carolina at home, won all 3.

With a few more NBA first round picks this year, just a joy to watch the talent (22-0)! They beat top level teams early this season and now just cleaning up on the conference. tongue.gif

One has to watch the first half because the game is typically over by halftime. Hopefully the weak competition won't hurt their chances going forward. Sure would be nice for them to get a National Championship, I think this year is their best chance. Their team is as good or better than ever and many big name programs like Kansas, Duke, and NC, are below par this year so far.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Zags have had a lot of good players over the years, but I can't recall them ever having a player like Suggs that was so good immediately at the beginning of his career. He's been a treat to watch. Unfortunately he won't be there long. Timme's jump from Fr. to Soph year has been stunning. And Kispert is a really great story. He's been a contributor all thru his career, but he's continued to improve each year and now as a Sr. is a POY candidate. Outside of those 3 they have a number of other very talented players.

Absolutely no surprise, but the Zags got the #1 seed in the West Region announced just now. All Tourney games are in San Antonio, so there isn't the usual hand wringing about favorable locations. Eastern Washington is also Dancing this year, that doesn't occur often. Also Oregon St. with a rare appearance. edit--oops, Indianapolis for the location; women's Tourney is in San Antonio
