Not particularly large on the NE flank of Mt. Howard. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7799/ More rain should be coming this week.

That first showed up on satellite a few weeks ago, seemed to go away, and now is back. Smoke was visible as i drove into lake wenatchee area this evening. Hoping it stays small!

It has a fire crew on it doing "monitoring". Maybe it won't blow up this late in the season.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

There was a helicopter doing water drops for about 6 hours on Thursday, but nothing yesterday or so far today.

It is my understanding that the USFS Chief implemented a 100% suppression strategy, nationwide, regardless of land status. Monitored fires are likely the ones with less "human" values at risk since all suppression resources are committed and not enough to go around to all the starts. Preparedness Level 5.

It is my understanding that it was burning on an "inaccessible peak" and was put into the monitoring mode. It has been burning for some time now. It seems to be burning its way to being accessible. Tomorrow may be a very bad day to have a fire going.

Looking at Inciweb, sounds like they are starting to burn out from roads, indirectly.

This map will always show the latest perimeter on the NIFC GIS server and any MODIS/VIIRS satellite hotspot data from the last ~36 hours.

I saw that fire on August 5th and called it in. They said they knew about it and were sending a plane to check it out. It was clearly visible from the road to Snowy creek and looked like 2or 3 trees. I guess if you ignore a little thing long enough it'll get worse.

Looks ominous right now.
Taken from above the Gemini Run at Stevens Pass on my way back from berry picking. On August 15, we talked to a couple of Forest Service employees parked on the Little Wenatchee Ford Road who were “watching” it. At the time it was a small amount of minor smoke.
