Cool Gali! That song is unexpected throughout. The way it starts out doesn't seem to fit the image in the picture. Then a bit over a minute in, it changes significantly. Then again at about 4 minutes, where did that come from? I can appreciate music that just flat out refuses genre labels.

I checked out some more of Andre Antunes You Tube content (the yodel metal guy). Some of the clips are flat out annoying, but there's some other cool stuff. This is some good advertising for the Navy.

And he's got a bunch of medley's of classical music. It's amazing how good all of that sounds on electric guitar. I bet most of those composers would've been overjoyed if the electric guitar had been invented during their lifetime. Paganini for sure, he would've been shredding on the guitar.

I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie Crossroads, in which most of the music is by the great blues guitarist Ry Cooder. The finale though involves a guitar duel* that ends with the Paganini piece in your medley above. The amazing Steve Vai, who’s in the movie, played both parts of that duel for the Paganini bit. * I haven't posted the YouTube link to the duel, just in case you'd prefer to see the movie.

Almost 50 years ago, I literally "sat on the roof and kicked off the moss" wink.gif on my grandparents' house overlooking the harbor of Port Angeles listening to "Elton John" (the LP), and Tumbleweed Connection (still my favorite LP/8 track tape/cassette/cd/download/YouTube video of his hockeygrin.gif ). Now I sit on my autumn deck sipping on a glass of Petite Syrah watching a video with disco vibes that should have included the Keebler Elves in a really catchy tune (#1 in the UK now) revisiting "Sacrifice" and snippets of "Rocket Man" by SIR Elton and Dua Lipa. Life be crazy. dizzy.gif up.gif

"These are the places you will find me hiding'...These are the places I will always go." (Down in the Valley by The Head and The Heart) "Sometimes you're happy. Sometimes you cry. Half of me is ocean. Half of me is sky." (Thanks, Tom Petty)

Ha. Great video G.O.&G. I happened to catch this tune while driving around town this week with C-89 (KNHC) on the radio and thought--"Hmm an Elton John cover or sampling. Do I like this?..." And here you go and find this video and the song. It's awesome--trippy and kitschy at the same time. ~z

Can't believe this was 30 years ago. While I can't say I was a huge fan at the time, hard not to appreciate in retrospect.
